movie buff week

For the first time in many years that I actually watched so many films in one week. I had been a fanatic international film buff. This week was the Italian Film Festival and also for the first time I watched Italian films with my sister and brother-in-law.

Out of the 4 films I watched I must say only The Last Kiss was good. The most crappy was And If Tomorow. One thing I realised in the whole selection of movies, the title of the film and the storyline don't quite gel. What does the last kiss mean in the movie... I personally feel that the synopsis does not say the true storyline at all. I couldnt find the meaning. Ah well, Ken is not there to discuss the film with me but I truly find good meaning in the film. Lost of self-identities by the bunch of italian blokes.... oh well. Aren't we all a bunch of lost souls in this world trying to find ourselves....

3 Wives - was pretty hilarious.. and that's all I could say about the film....

The Life I Want (La Vita Che Vorrei)

Directed by Giuseppe Piccioni, 2004, 125 minutes, M18: Some Nudity

Laura, in her thirties and with an undefined but aspiring acting background, has been chosen for a leading role in a film, set in the eighteenth century, about unhappy love. During the filming, she meets Stefano, an established and famous actor, there after a film which is failing. Her career is taking off, but her past still makes her insecure. He is jealous of her success. Their relationship gets influenced by their roles and takes the path of the film story. THE LIFE I WANT is a film about sentiment and attraction, insecurity and strength, generosity and egoism, reality and fiction. The strong cast is led by Sandra Ceccarelli of LIGHTS OF MY EYES and PROFESSION OF ARMS fame.

And If Tomorrow (E Se Domani)

Directed by Giovanni La Parola, 2005, 90 minutes, TBA

An energetic fusion of drama, social commentary, and hilarious comedy. Matteo Cillario, a lawyer, is so obsessed by money that he does not want any children, convinced that they would be too expensive. One day, his best friend, Mimi, locks himself in a bank and threatens the customers with a gun and a handbag full of explosives. Matteo knows that Mimi is the best of the men and decides to tell his story, which goes back to a childhood romance that was never completely forgotten, with Kitty, Mimi's business partner wife.

The Last Kiss (L'ultimo Bacio)

One of the most successful Italian films in recent years, with eight characters and three different generations, focused on the ups and downs of Carlo, a 30-year-old bored with everyday life, who's going to marry Giulia, his pregnant girlfriend. During his friend Marco's stag night, Carlo meets Francesca, an 18-year-old student, and has a relationship with her. Meanwhile, Guilia's middle-aged mother, Anna, is going through her own crisis, constantly telling her passive husband she's leaving him, but never quite starting an affair. Three Wives (Tre Mogli)

Directed by Marco Risi, 2001, 105 minutes, NC16: Course Language

A brilliant comedy focused on three different women who have something in common. One New Year's Day, they are called to the police station to discuss the mysterious disappearance of their husbands, who all worked in the same bank -- which has just been robbed. Bianca, Billie and Beatrice soon discover that their husbands stole millions and have become fugitives. For different reasons and with different agendas, each of them finds herself in Argentina on the trail of an errant spouse. Wonderfully entertaining.

my working neighbour at her last day at work

these photos were taken with my working neighbour cum good buddy. She was my buddy for most of the projects... and 2 Fridays ago was her last day at work with us and that event at Grand Hyatt Singapore was our last event together.

I had been a fun one and half year of working together with her and all the events that we did together were filled with mostly good memories - cos the bad ones are usually not remembered. Or at least we try to have fun at each and every events that we did. Will miss her loads.... miss her blurness and her own lovely blissful world where everyone's life is so smooth and simple.

hey gal... I'm sure we will still see each other around. All the best at your new job.

HP misery

I didn't lose my HP but I dropped it on the floor....

we went up to 150 m high

as promised... here are the photos of our DHL rising balloon excursion!!! basically it took us 3 min to rise, spent 3 mins in the sky and 3 mins to descend for $23 per person. Not sure if it's worth it but... for the thrill of it... any how it was paid for by my bosses.



The winds was getting stronger as we see dark clouds.

Any how, the half day on Friday was a good break for us. And that's me feeling very relaxed and happy!!!! hahahha

yipppeee.... it's Friday and can't wait to party tonight...

But today's slightly different. It may be a normal Friday but to me and my colleagues is a special day... hahah as if... but we like the idea of not working on a Friday afternoon. Our office will be closed for company recreation.... we are closing for the afternoon... believe that or not!!! They older folks have finally agreed to a company fun day!!!

any how, I am in no mood to work hence blogging now. I shall put up the photos of our recreation day in my next blog...

here's my goodie friend's dog... gus think I feature his photos on my blog when he was few months old... he turned 2 some weeks back.

just felt like featuring him again. I remembered seeing him on recent occasions and he still love to sleep so close to us...

Finally I am taking a break... going to Phuket

Oh well... my younger sister has changed her plans of going to Shanghai to do her summer elective. She decided to go to HKCU... i guess the HK disneyland is more attractive than the Shanghai city...

My plans of going Shanghai is now shelved... so I am going to Phuket for a beach-bumming holiday next Friday. I shall get another nice tan again... do some diving and find some cute beach bummers for a holiday fling again!!! That shall make my holiday more exciting...

ooo... I can't wait for my holidays!!!! Yippeee

My long weekend SUCKS!!!

I was so looking forward to this L O N G weekend.... after working non-stop since February on events after events.... I never really had a good rest even on Sundays. I had been working weekends after weekends. Perhaps I had been so used to working on weekends that I have forgotten what it was like not doing anything except sleeping.

I was hoping that *someone* would ask me out to entertain me for the weekend but NO... nothing happened. I slept through the days and party at night at my usual hangout with my usual girlies. Coincidentally they were in the same situation as I... no dates at all. All guys went on holiday??? No one was in town that we know wanted to ask us out...

my other girl friends all seem to be occupied either at work or with their own life... even when I tried to get them out... they turnd me down. I was so upset. When I am free... no ones want to date me... when I am busy at work, they all came looking for me. WHY???

any how.. the best thing I did was to catch Mission Impossible 3... it was not one of the movies which I would pay to watch and neither was it on my MUST watch list. I went becos my friend was just as bored as I... so it was 2 bored ladies hanging out together... and then it moved on to 3 bored ladies drinking at Liquid Kitchen at Thomson Road and ended watching the finals of FA cup and cheering for Liverpool. I'm not a pool fan but wanted them to win after their first silly own goal... dun ask what theory is this. I'm just bored.

For once... I am bored yet again on weekend... looks like I need to head back to sailing on weekends now. Time to sail away again...

Back from Ho Chi Minh

Looking at my blog today just made me realise that I had been so busy in the last month that I didn't have time to blog.... been so so long.

I was in HCM for one week for work cum short extension to explore the city with long interesting history. It's been 4 days and finally I have time to complete.
